Today I'm watching about six total hours of Barbri lecture videos. If you aren't in law school you (rightfully) have no idea what in the heck a Barbri video is. However, I'm sure my law school gals feel my pain. Some people ask me why I bother watching these videos when I can just download the outline from Barbri with all the same material. But I just get a lot more out of hearing all the little mnemonic devices and things that the Barbri profs come up with to attach the info to our brains.
Here's one fine example... The Sinaed O'Connor Principle of Property: "Living people have no hairs (heirs)." How awful was that? Almost so bad it hurts. But, if corny jokes will make me remember the info then it's okay by me. I'll admit I enjoy a bad joke every now and then.
Before I go back to my studying, I want to share one other funny little tidbit. The professor was explaining how interested in Pokemon her son was when he was 3. So one day they were in the video store together. The son rented two new Pokemon videos and Mommy rented Good Will Hunting. The son, being in his acquisitive stage and wanting everything for himself, wanted to know if Good Will Hunting was also for him to watch. Mommy quickly explained, "No, sweetheart, this is an adult movie. You're a kid so you watch Pokemon, but this movie is only for adults." Later on, in the grocery store, the son was chatting with the clerk at checkout and happened to share a nice little detail with the clerk: "Today I got to rent two new Pokemon videos, and Mommy got to rent an adult video!"
HAHA. I had a pretty good chuckle at that one. Ok, back to the books.
