Cooking for One

Do you ever just NOT feel like cooking when boyfriend or hubby is away? Something about cooking alone is depressing to me. So with C gone all week I have a feeling I'm going to be reaching for the quick, convenient stuff. Not too good for my waistline or wallet! I'm thinking Cosi for dinner tonight. I usually prefer Panera but Cosi is right up the road from us so I will just have to settle.

I could always just grab some quick stuff from the grocery store that doesn't require much prep. I'm thinking frozen pizza and other wonderfully healthy and preservative-filled items. Oh well, it's spring break!!!! DANGEROUS line of reasoning.

Side note: I may go out and purchase a can of paint and some rollers this week so I can FINALLY attack either our study or our living room walls. Our entire apartment is a disgustingly boring off-white color, and I just can't take it anymore. Wouldn't it be nice to surprise C on his return with some lovely color on the walls? Ah, I must be feeling ambitious. I'm thinking a DIY project is just what I need though to pull me out of this funk! We shall see....

The Dress Matters

C and I have an on going joke about this commercial. Really, C just despises the wife for spending the couple's hard-earned rewards on a dress, and I get to have a good laugh at his outrage every time the commercial comes on TV. It has gotten to the point where C has seen the same actress in another commercial (Olive Garden, I think?) and he says, "Hey, that's that selfish wife from the Chase Rewards commercial!!" Too funny! Anyone else have a spouse or boyfriend who totally hates this wife? I get the feeling men may be in agreement on this one.

I did a little google search to see what people are saying about the commercial (holy spare time!) and I found this ridiculous message board called Commercials I Hate featuring a discussion about this ad. I'd just like to point out the post by the guy who said he just watches the commercial for the sexuality. LOL. What??? Here are a few more gems for your enjoyment:

- "Yeah I didn't get this commercial either...Cause the wife is saying "Oh no we can't take a vacation because we don't have enough." Yet she bought a new dress......Possible failure on the storyboard worker's part?"

- "I don't care if tht dress says Versace, Armani or whomever - that is one of the fugliest creations I ever saw."

....I don't know what's worse. Fact that people actually spend their time posting detailed comments on that message board, or that that I'm spending my time relaying it to all of you :) Oh well, I found it somewhat entertaining.

Happy Saturday Night!! xx

Leaving On A Jetplane...

Well, not me. But C is!! :( I just said goodbye to him because he's off to London and Ireland for the week. His brother is studying abroad in London currently so they're meeting up there, seeing a soccer game (the Carling Cup? I guess it's a big deal to those who are into soccer!) and then heading to Ireland for the rest of the week to see Dublin, Galway, and another place that I can't remember. I sure do miss him already! But you know what they say...... ;)

On a happier note, we are officially on SPRING BREAK. And what good timing that was. I am not up to much this week, just a whole lot of wearing sweats, catching up on Gossip Girl and other DVR saviors, and (possibly) doing a little outlining. I simply cannot convey to you how amazing an entire week of freedom feels right now. WOOHOO!

Have a lovely weekend, all!!

The Basement (of the Library) is a Scary Place

I've been in the basement of the library at my school for about an hour and I am just so, so over it. I have deemed the library basement the worst place to study in the entire world!

First of all, what don't people understand about NOT TALKING in the library? How hard is it to just wait until you get into the main area of the building to chit chat with your friends? THIS IS A LIBRARY PEOPLE. (By the way, does anyone remember that skit on All That?! HAHA)

Second of all, whoever designed this new building must not be the type to enjoy quiet while studying because all the loud machinery of the building (I am assuming water heaters and other things that I know nothing about) are located in the basement. How can I possibly read with the constant buzz located behind a door to my left?

Finally, the custodians (though I appreciate all the hard work they do) are SO LOUD when changing the trash bags. Does it really take 45 solid seconds of ruffling the plastic bag around in order to stick it in the bin? Goodness GRACIOUS.

Oooohhh, I guess I am in RARE FORM today! That's what happens when Danna has a big assignemnt due date looming and people won't just let me concentrate. After I post this I'm going to pack up all my things and head to the third floor where things are peaceful AND productive.

I suppose all of this complaining would not be necessary if I just invested in a pair of ear plugs. But then I just feel so dorky with those bright yellow things stuck in my ears. What is a girl to do?

A LONG Overdue Update

Good Morning and Happy Sunday to all my lovely readers!! So it's been about, what, six months since I've written? Possibly more. Who was even counting? I know time was absolutely flying for me. I am now into my second semester of law school. Adjusting to the pace of my new life is for sure getting easier as time goes by. C and I are doing very well. We both feel content with our first semester performance. I still doubt whether I'm truly meant for law school as I occasionally find myself asking, "Is this what I want to be doing for the rest of my life?" But then there are the really good days where I just get it and I am super productive. Those days I know for sure that I'm meant to be a lawyer. I guess that's the case with almost anything and everything we do, right?

So I really apologize for sort of abandoning this blog. At first I let it go about a week with no posting, then a month, then before I knew it finals and the holidays had come and I hadn't posted for God knows how long. It was just an absurd time in my life! Not in a bad way, just in a crazy and hectic way. I'm sure you all get that! But recently i've been missing my blog friends a lot! I miss getting and giving the daily dose of life and silly anecdotes. So I want to let all of my lovely readers know that I'm not gone for good. Summer will come and I'll get back into the swing of writing posts daily, but for now you should expect a post only every so often. I'll try to make them super interesting to make up for my lost time! :)

I just got a new phone - the Palm Pre (haven't been able to put it down since I got it!), and I will be updating via twitter (@lilmissdanna) more frequently. So check me out on since I know you're all just dying to know what I'm up to...

On a final note: for those bloggers who are in law school and still providing interesting and insightful posts almost daily, I commend you! Seriously, I don't know how you do it. Bravo to you!

Until next time,
